Renovation Rendering, Paradise Valley Country Club
|
To fully understand the various principles of golf course architecture, today's successful designers have placed great value on the experience of their background. Practical experience in golf course maintenance and construction brings a unique and valuable asset to the project that cannot be underestimated. It was apparent to David at an early age that he was destined to become a Golf Course Architect, so he sought out this experience with the ultimate goal of using it to the benefit of his chosen career.
As the son of a Golf Course Superintendent, David was exposed to everyday life on a golf course, learning and experiencing what goes into the playing fields of the game.

To gain an understanding of the principles of design theory, David earned a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Arizona. He also received valuable education in the related sciences while earning his degree including soil science and agronomy. He also gained valuable experience during an internship with Robert Trent Jones Jr. in California.
Prior to entering design, David spent several years in golf course construction. This experience was gained at several highly regarded courses including Semi-ah-moo in Washington, and Pelican Hill in California. This first hand experience has been of considerable value to both David and his clients and is represented in the accuracy of his design documents, cost estimates and construction coordination abilities.
